DAVE Will of Joseph Simmons written 15 May 1833 desires "that my negro man DAVE shall serve my brother Thomas and my sisters Elizabeth Cross and Susanna Simmons during their lives " and at their deaths to Serve my sister Teresa Bowen during her life and at her death to be free but if Teresa dies before Thomas, Elizabeth and Susannah the said DAVE is to be set free at their deaths. DAVE COOK b. abt. 1807 Inventory of the personal estate of Richard P. Simmons returned by exors. Mary Simmons and Richard H. Field 24 Mar 1845 (see below under Dave Caution for full listing) included ... "Dave Cook aged 38 valued at $500" ( Bullitt Co. KY Will Book C p. 427 )

Note: At the sale for this estate Abraham, sold for $376, "John Mudcat (who is not in the inventory unless he is simply listed simply as John) sold for $250, Burr, sold for $320, DAVE CAUTION sold for $511, Bob Applegate (shown in the inventory as Robert?)sold for $510 and Edmund sold for $201 were purchased by Nicholas Simmons.
