Contact the sender for further information. ____________________________________ Additional FGS information: Looking for a possible connection to the Lexington PATTERSONs. Col Robert PATTERSON had a half brother named William, who would be about the right age. It is also possible that this William participated in the Revolutionary War battles of Kings Mountain and Cowpens, both in South Carolina. This is a reasonable explanation for Jonathan's 1784 SC birthplace. NOTES: (a) Jonathan is enumerated on 1850 & 1860 census, birthplace SC. (b) Perrin list father as William. Lucy is from the Quick Notes. (c) Jonathan's estate administrator document is dated 10 Aug 1865. Son Archibald was the administrator. Rebecca was listed here, so she died after this date. (d) Archibald's birthplace is not fixed. He is born 4 years after his parents are married in Mercer County. However, they eventually move to Shelby County, as early as 1810 and possibly sooner. (e) James`s birthplace is also not fixed. Jonathan appears on the 1814 tax list in Nelson County. If they are with William ca. 1810 in Shelby County and Jonathan is still there in 1819. It could be Shelby County. Son Calvin reported his father's birthplace as Spencer County on his marriage bond. However, Spencer is not established until 1824. What became Spencer County could have been Nelson, Shelby or Bullitt Counties. (f) James's second wife is noted as Thurgia A Anders, in a birth record transcription, for daughter, Emmaline b. 22 Dec 1858, on the Muhlenberg County GenWeb site. A transcription of her second marriage states it was Ambrose. In 1860 there is a J. J. Ambrose living with them. (g) Jonathan's birthplace is fixed by Perrin as Spencer County. However, Spencer County is not established until 1824. What became Spencer County could have been Nelson, Shelby or Bullitt Counties. He appears in an 1890 tax list in Ohio County and is not seen in 1900, fixing his death date was ca. 1890-1900. Jonathan and Mary appear together in the 1850 Spencer County census. (h) Griffin's birthplace is not fixed. However, Jonathan is taxed on 50 acres in Bullitt County in 1821. He is captured in the 1860 Muhlenberg County census. No records have been found after that date. (i) On the death certificate of son, G. H. Patterson his mother is listed as Martha Grimes, not Catherine Richey. Catherine is alive in 1860, well after the birth of G. H in 1853. (j) Alfred's birth is not fixed. He most likely was born in Bullitt County due to Jonathan being taxed in that county in 1821. He is last seen in the 1880 census living in Ohio County. (k) Resin is a mystery. He is seen near these Patterson's in 1850. No records after that sighting. (l) Hadin's birth is most likely Spencer County, since the family resided there from 1824 till 1853. QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS FAMILY: I am looking for a possible connection to the Lexington Pattersons. Col. Robert Patterson had a half brother named William, who would be about the right age. It is also possible that this William participated in the Revolutionary War battles of Kings Mountain and Cowpens, both in South Carolina. This is a reasonable explanation for Jonathan's 1784 SC birthplace. RESEARCHER: Robert L. PATTERSON, Jr. rlpatterson12@yahoo.com elmozz@hotmail.com
